Cupcake Birthday Cake

For Meghan's third (and final) "1st Birthday" party I made her a cupcake-shaped birthday cake. I actually made a test cake earlier in the week to practice decorating and shaping the cake. I'm pretty happy with the final version for her birthday party. It was hard to get the shape of a cupcake down, but I think its pretty cute. This time around she managed to eat some cake- as opposed to Monday when she enjoyed smearing the blue frosting all over her face.

I also made Meghan a birthday plate at a "paint your own pottery" store here in Bluffton. We tried to get either a hand or foot print... this was a 2nd attempt and the best we could do.

Dancing Queen

Here are some video clips of Meghan shaking her groove thing. The ones of her in the jumper and exersaucer are from March and April. The one of her dancing is from last week (June 19th) at our friend Pat's & Kat's house in Florida. Whenever she hears music she can't keep from dancing.

Meghan's 1st Birthday

Before:

During:

After:

Kevin was able to get on his webcam for Meghan's birthday party on Monday. Meghan had her own smash cake... I don't think she actually made it to the cake because she just kept eating the icing, which ended up everywhere!

Big Weekend- First Birthday & Family Reunion

This past weekend we traveled down to Daytona Beach for a mini-reunion with Kevin's mom's family. Kevin's Aunt Lynn let us stay with her family and hosted Meghan's 1st Birthday Party. His Uncle Bill, cousins Christie and Alison, and Christie's daughters drove from Texas. Kevin's mom and brother drove down fom Chicago.

Meghan absolutely loved the ocean! She kept trying to walk further out into the water.

Kevin's cousin, Christie, took this video of Meghan dancing to the 2-man band during lunch. She dances all the time... I have some more videos I'll post later of Meghan dancing.

Homemade Frozen Yogurt Pops

We had a bunch of peaches that were going to go bad if we didn't use them soon since we're going out of town this weekend. Michelle (my sister-in-law) and I decided to make frozen yogurt pops mixed with the peaches. Meghan loved them. Of course, she eats pretty much anything you give her.

Starting This Up

Hopefully we'll be putting more posts up here soon. Just getting started so it might take me a little while to actually make this useful.
